The Reverend Richard (Rick) Vinson
Rick is a Virginia native who has served in both parish and institutional settings throughout the church. A graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College, he received his Master of Divinity in 1981 from The American University, Wesley Theological Seminary, in Washington, D.C. He did further theological training at the Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria, Virginia. He did further training with The Alban Institute and The National Cathedral College of Preachers.
Rick served as an assistant at Calvary Church, Arlington, VA and curate of Christ Church, Rockville, MD before taking on a ministry as chaplain at St. Elizabeths Hospital, National Institute of Mental Health, Washington, DC. He then served as the Director of Pastoral Care at Westminster-Canterbuy, a life care community in Virginia Beach, VA. and was the Rector of Emmanuel Church, Hampton, VA. Serving as an Interim Priest at St. John's in Hampton, Virginia he was then called to serve as the Interim Pastor of St. Andrew's Cathedral, Honolulu. Before coming to Holy Nativity Rick was the Dean of Calvary Cathedral in Sioux Falls, SD.
Rick and his partner in marriage, Ellen, have three children. Amanda who is a student at the University of Hawai'i, Manoa, Rebecca who is a senior at Kalani High School and Taylor a freshman at Kaiser High.
